Reselling Meaning & Definition — What Is Reselling? (রিসেলিং কী?)
Reselling means buying a product and selling it again — new or used — for a profit or to recover value. The plain-English and Bangla definition, with real Bangladesh examples.
📑 In This Article
Reselling (noun) — the act of buying a product and then selling it again to someone else, either to make a profit or to recover value from an item you no longer use. In Bangla it is called পুনঃবিক্রয় or simply রিসেল.
The Two Everyday Forms of Reselling
- Secondhand reselling — you sell something you already own: your old phone after an upgrade, a sofa before moving flats, a bike you outgrew. This is the most common form in Bangladesh and the heart of resale.bd.
- Flipping / buy-to-resell — you deliberately buy underpriced items (from a friend leaving the country, a clearance sale, a wholesale market like Chawkbazar) and resell them at market price. The difference is your profit.
Reselling in One Bangladesh Example
Rafi buys a used iPhone 13 in Dhaka for ৳52,000, uses it for a year, then lists it on resale.bd for ৳44,000. That listing is reselling. When his friend Mitu buys three discounted headsets from a closing shop and sells each one online for ৳800 more — that is reselling too. Same word, two motivations: recover value, or earn profit.
Reselling vs Dropshipping vs Retail
Why Reselling Is Booming in Bangladesh
New phone and laptop prices keep climbing with the dollar rate, so millions of buyers now choose secondhand first. Every device upgrade in a Dhaka household creates a resale item. Students, homemakers and side-hustlers are turning this into real income — and trust-first platforms with NID verification make it safer than the old Facebook-group days.
